This guide covers what new Commanders should actually prioritize in NIKKE's first week, from campaign progression to recruitment to the Outpost systems that quietly compound over time
Walking into NIKKE for the first time without a plan means wasting currency on the wrong things and ignoring systems that matter far more than they look like they do early on. This guide fixes that.
First priorities: clear the campaign efficiently
Campaign progression unlocks almost everything else in the game, so it deserves your early attention more than any side system. Each chapter introduces new mechanics gradually, and Auto Mode becomes available from Chapter 2 onward, letting you speed through stages your squad already significantly outpowers.
Clearing campaign stages also feeds the Outpost Defense system directly. Outpost Defense's reward capacity increases for every five campaign stages cleared, so pushing the story forward early has a compounding benefit on your idle resource income later.
-
Clear the tutorial fully Do not skip tutorial prompts, they unlock core UI elements and your first few Nikkes
-
Push campaign chapters steadily Use Auto Mode once unlocked at Chapter 2 to move through stages efficiently
-
Check Outpost Defense daily Materials cap at 24 hours of accumulation, so logging in once a day is enough early on
-
Unlock the Synchro Device This lets new Nikkes match the level of your fifth highest-level unit, saving significant grind time
-
Join an active Union Unlocks the Shooting Range and weekly Union Raid access once your Union reaches level 3
Recruitment: how to spend your first pulls
New Nikkes come from a recruitment system using in-game currency, with units split into R, SR, and SSR rarity tiers. The Recruitment Wishlist feature lets you choose up to five SSR Nikkes per manufacturer faction, Elysion, Missilis, or Tetra, and increases their drop rate, which is the single most efficient way to target specific units early.
Resist the urge to pull randomly on every available banner. Setting a Wishlist around units known for strong combat roles, rather than chasing whichever Nikke is newest, gets you a more functional early squad faster.
NIKKE features a gacha-based recruitment system used to obtain playable Nikkes, categorized by rarity into R, SR, and SSR tiers.

Friends, Social Points, and free pulls
Adding friends is a small system that pays off more than it looks like it should. Players can have up to 30 friends, and sending Social Points through them feeds the Social Point Recruitment gacha, which offers free pulls at lower SR and SSR rates than premium banners, but at zero currency cost.
The fastest way to fill your friends list early is through the Recommended Friends page or by adding members of your own Union, since most active players accept requests from fellow Union members without hesitation.
- Add friends through the Recommended Friends page during your first session
- Send and collect Social Points daily, even if you forget every other system
- Spend Battle Data Sets first when shopping in the Union Shop as a new player
- Set your Recruitment Wishlist before spending any premium currency on pulls
- Clear five campaign stages at a time to keep Outpost Defense capacity growing
Combat training without wasting attempts
The Simulation Room offers a safe space to practice Burst timing and earn skill upgrades without spending limited daily attempts elsewhle. It is worth visiting before jumping into anything with restricted retries, since some of NIKKE's content, like Union Raid, only allows three attempts per day with no repeat Nikke usage.
Manual play matters more than it seems early on. While Auto Mode handles early stages fine, getting comfortable with manual aiming and Burst activation now avoids a rough wall later when Ex-Stages, which disable Auto Mode entirely, start appearing in the campaign.

A realistic first-week pace
New Commanders do not need to optimize everything immediately. The systems above compound on their own as long as the basics are covered consistently: campaign progress, Outpost check-ins, and a configured Wishlist.
This guide is for players in their first one to two weeks of NIKKE who want a clear priority order instead of guessing which of the game's many systems actually matters early on
Spending currency and time efficiently in week one sets the pace for everything that follows. A poorly built early roster or an empty Wishlist costs far more time to fix later than it does to get right from the start
Common early mistakes to avoid
A short list of things worth actively avoiding, based on where new Commanders most often lose efficiency early.
- Auto Mode from Chapter 2 onward makes early campaign progress fast and low effort
- Outpost Defense rewards consistent daily check-ins without requiring active play
- The Recruitment Wishlist gives meaningful control over which SSR units you target
- Simulation Room offers risk-free Burst timing practice before attempt-limited content appears
- Pulling without a configured Wishlist wastes currency on undesired units
- Skipping manual play early creates a rough transition once Ex-Stages remove Auto Mode
That covers the main early mistakes worth avoiding in your first week.
A focused first week, campaign progress, daily Outpost check-ins, and a configured Wishlist, sets up a far smoother NIKKE experience than spending currency reactively on whatever banner is newest
wish i found this before i pulled randomly on my first three banners, the wishlist tip alone wouldve saved me so much currency
