What a brand new player will encounter in Ragnarok Zero: Global, from account creation and the trial to the first job change and first party
Your first Poring kill takes four seconds. Your first job change takes a few hours. Everything in between is where new players either fall in love or quietly log off.

Choosing your first job
Every character starts as a Novice. At Job Level 10 you visit a guild in a main town and pick one of six first jobs. No choice locks you out, but the early experience differs a lot.
| Job | Early solo feel | Party role |
|---|---|---|
| Swordsman | Sturdy and forgiving | Tank |
| Archer | Fast kills at range | Damage |
| Mage | Slow start, strong later | Area damage |
| Acolyte | Weak alone, wanted everywhere | Healer |
| Thief | Quick and evasive | Burst damage |
| Merchant | Steady and economic | Support and trade |
For a first character, Swordsman and Archer are the most forgiving. Acolyte is the fastest route into parties because healers are always in demand.
Stats are allocated manualy. STR for melee, AGI for speed and dodge, VIT for health, INT for magic, DEX for accuracy, LUK for criticals. Swordsman STR and VIT, or Archer DEX and AGI, is a safe start.
The job you pick shapes your first week, and the trial is long enough to test two of them
Compare the jobsWhat the first hours will look like
The training grounds teach movement, basic attacks and how to open the quest log. After that you are released into the fields outside your starting town, where the real game begins.
- Finish the training ground quests before leaving town
- Talk to every NPC with an exclamation mark in the first city
- Buy a stack of red potions before your first field trip
- Reach Job Level 10 as a Novice, then change job
- Turn on auto hunting for repetitive monster quests
- Say hello in the town chat and ask about beginner parties
Auto hunting is worth learning early. It is an official built-in system that farms a zone while you tab out. Set it up on easy monsters first.
The wider camera and simplified travel mean less walking than veterans remember. Kafra services still handle teleport and storage.
Joining the community early
The server spans Europe, Southeast Asia and Oceania, so someone is always online. Guild recruitment is active in the main towns, and launch events reward guild masters as their guilds grow.

Announcements and party finding
Your first week, planned out
The trial is three days, and a fair test needs a little structure. Here is how to spend it.
Days one to three
Day one is character creation and the Novice grind. Day two is the job change and a first real hunting field. Day three is for finding a party and testing auto hunting.
After the trial
- The onboarding is gentle and the community is welcoming to newcomers
- Stat allocation gives every character a personal feel
- Auto hunting means daily progress even with limited time
- Some jobs feel weak solo until the first advancement
- Menus and item icons take a little time to learn
The first days on the server are less about power and more about learning a rhythm, and players who give the game three unhurried evenings tend to know exactly whether they want a fourth
Once you subscribe, your trial character carries over, so nothing done during the free days is wasted.
This guide suits players who have never touched Ragnarok, or who last played it a decade ago and want a clear picture of what the first week looks like now
If you want to know before installing whether this server will respect your time, three planned days answer that question better than any forum thread

This is exactly what I needed. Rolled an Archer, followed the checklist and had a party by the second evening
